Turkish defense company ROKETSAN signed new export, joint production, and investment agreements at the World Defense Show 2026 (WDS) in Riyadh, strengthening defense-industrial cooperation with Saudi Arabia.
The company announced it had reached a cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) for the joint production of cruise missiles in Saudi Arabia. The agreement aims to support long-term, integrated missile development programs and deepen bilateral cooperation in advanced strike technologies.
ROKETSAN also signed a separate contract with SAMI Land Systems covering the sale and joint production of anti-tank guided missile systems. The deal is intended to enhance the operational effectiveness of land combat platforms while expanding local manufacturing capacity within the Kingdom.
Localization and investment-focused cooperation
On the sidelines of WDS 2026, ROKETSAN further expanded its institutional partnerships by signing a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Investment (MISA) and the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI).
The memorandum outlines plans to promote defense and aerospace investments, create new production and technology transfer opportunities, and implement a long-term investment roadmap. It also seeks to strengthen the capabilities of local suppliers and integrate them into the global defense supply chain.
ROKETSAN said its initiatives in Saudi Arabia are aimed at supporting localization efforts, reinforcing the national defense-industrial base, and contributing to the development of a sustainable defense ecosystem.
