The acceptance process for the TCG Oruçreis, which was modernized as part of the Barbaros-class Frigate Combat Management System Development Project led by the Turkish Naval Forces Command, has been successfully completed.
This extensive upgrade has provided the ship with improved situational awareness and advanced combat capabilities against air, surface, underwater, electronic, and asymmetric threats.
TCG ORUÇREİS has achieved seamless integration with the ADVENT Combat Management System.
The ADVENT (Network-Enabled Data Integrated Combat Management System), developed by HAVELSAN, has been integrated into more than 30 legacy and new domestic and international systems aboard TCG ORUÇREİS.
Modernization by the Numbers:
• 6+ million lines of code written
• 700+ applications integrated
Network-enabled capabilities, including joint engagement, operations, and training, have been transferred to the platform.
What is ADVENT?
ADVENT is a next-generation combat management system designed to meet the demands of modern naval warfare. It enables real-time, force-centric, network-based operations.
Key features:
– Network-enabled operations: Allows real-time data sharing and joint mission coordination
Modular and Scalable: Integrates with surface, underwater, aerial, and land-based platforms.
– AI-powered decision support: Optimizes threat assessment, target detection, and weapon-sensor management.
It is platform-agnostic and easily adaptable to ships, aircraft, and unmanned systems.
ADVENT Variants:
ADVENT MARTI is tailored for aerial platforms, including maritime patrol aircraft, helicopters, and UAVs. It enables real-time surveillance and command and control.
ADVENT MÜREN is developed for underwater platforms in collaboration with the Turkish Navy.
Platforms using ADVENT in the Turkish Navy:
ADVENT is now operational on over 30 naval platforms, including:
MİLGEM-class corvettes (e.g., TCG Kınalıada)
, BARBAROS-class frigates (e.g., TCG Oruç Reis, which was modernized in August 2025),
TCG Anadolu and TCG Ufuk special-mission ships.
Underwater platforms via ADVENT MÜREN.
Manned and unmanned aerial platforms via ADVENT MARTI.
International Footprint: ADVENT Goes Global
ADVENT has achieved significant success in international defense exports. Deployments include:
– Four MİLGEM corvettes for the Pakistan Navy
– MİLGEM corvettes for Ukraine
Two Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) for Indonesia
An upcoming integration into two frigates for the Chilean Navy is scheduled for March 2025.
These milestones mean that ADVENT is now in use by nine international clients spanning Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas.
