The Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) unveiled a new portfolio of weapons, ammunition, and platforms at SAHA EXPO 2026, held at the Istanbul Exhibition Center from May 5–9, aiming to support the operational requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces and expand its export footprint.

Among the systems introduced, the TOLGA Close-In Air Defense System drew attention with its laser and acoustic detection capabilities. Designed to counter low-altitude threats such as kamikaze drones and tactical unmanned aerial vehicles, the system integrates both soft-kill electronic warfare measures and hard-kill intercept solutions within a layered air defense architecture.

MKE also presented its new-generation ENFAL-17 missile for the first time. While technical specifications remain undisclosed, the system is expected to strengthen the company’s position in the rocket and munitions sector and support export-driven growth.

In the land systems segment, MKE showcased several mobile artillery platforms, including the 105 mm URAN vehicle-mounted gun, the 120 mm BOZKIR weapon system, and the 155 mm ATTİLA howitzer. These systems are designed for rapid deployment and high mobility, aligning with evolving battlefield requirements.

The ALPAY-2 mine clearance system was highlighted for its ability to neutralize mines across wide areas using a 400-kilogram C4 explosive payload. The platform is intended to create safe corridors for advancing troops and is designed for integration with multiple vehicle types.

Naval and small arms systems were also displayed, including the MALAMAN Smart Bottom Mine and the MKE-300 Blackout rifle. The latter, developed for special forces, is optimized for close-quarters combat operations.

MKE’s product rollout comes as part of a broader $1.5 billion investment program covering the 2023–2027 period, aimed at expanding production capacity in howitzer ammunition, naval gun systems, and rocket technologies. The initiative aligns with Turkey’s objective to increase localization in its defense industry.

Analysts say ongoing conflicts, including the Russia-Ukraine War and instability in the Middle East, have accelerated demand for unmanned systems, layered air defense, and mobile artillery. In this context, MKE’s expanded portfolio is seen as addressing both domestic operational needs and international market demand.

The company is also advancing export negotiations with countries such as Qatar, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, as part of efforts to strengthen its global presence.
