The Turkish defense industry took a major step toward reducing its dependency on foreign countries for critical subsystems by launching the mass production of indigenous cruise missile engines. At the 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), Roketsan and Kale Jet Motors signed a cruise missile series production engine supply agreement, ushering in a new era of national propulsion systems.

This agreement aligns with Turkey’s vision of a fully independent defense industry. Under the partnership, Kale Jet Motors will deliver turbojet engines for Roketsan’s cruise missile systems via domestic production lines. This collaboration will not only foster technological independence but also significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces.

KTJ-3700: Class-Leading Turbojet Engine

Developed by Kale Jet Motors, the KTJ-3700 is distinguished by its high thrust-to-size ratio and low fuel consumption. Despite being the engine with the smallest diameter in its class, it delivers the highest thrust. This makes it ideal for land-attack cruise missiles and other high-performance applications.

KTJ-3200: Turkey’s First Exported Turbojet Engine

The KTJ-3200 is notable for being Turkey’s first turbojet engine to be exported. A recent agreement secured its use in the MANSUP-ER anti-ship missile developed by Brazil for the United Arab Emirates. This milestone has significantly bolstered Turkey’s position in the global defense engine market.

Compact design and high efficiency: KTJ Engine Family

Kale Jet Motors has developed a robust infrastructure for the serial production of the KTJ engine series. The following variants are being integrated into advanced missile systems:

KTJ-3200A: ATMACA anti-ship missile

KTJ-3200S: SOM air-launched cruise missile

KTJ-3700: KARA ATMACA land-attack cruise missile

KTJ-1750: ÇAKIR Tactical Missile

These engines are renowned for their compact design, fuel efficiency, and high performance, which makes them highly competitive on a global scale.
