The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) have added several domestically developed defense systems to their inventory following the successful completion of inspection and acceptance processes, the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced.
The update was shared during the Ministry’s weekly press briefing, delivered by Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, Press and Public Relations Advisor and official spokesperson of the MSB.
Aktürk said Türkiye’s domestic and national defense industry has achieved significant progress at the global level, emphasizing that critical systems developed across the land, naval, air, and cyber domains continue to strengthen the operational readiness of the TSK.
New systems added to inventory
Within this framework, the Land Forces Command has inducted various quantities of the following systems into service:
- Long-Range Anti-Tank Missile with Laser Seeker (L-UMTAS)
- Medium Altitude Air Defense Missile System (HİSAR-O)
- KARAOK Anti-Tank Weapon System
- Modernized M60T main battle tank
- Bayraktar TB3 armed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)
Aktürk noted that these platforms, developed using domestic and national capabilities, are expected to significantly enhance the firepower and air defense capacity of the Land Forces Command.
T-70 helicopter delivery scheduled
As part of the General Purpose Helicopter Project, Aktürk said the seventh T-70 helicopter is scheduled to be delivered to the Air Force Command on December 23.
MKE delivers weapons and ammunition
Aktürk also stated that Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) delivered weapons and ammunition of various types and calibers during the past week.
In addition, he announced that the qualification process for Türkiye’s first infantry-type Modern Machine Gun (MMT) .8developed under a joint project with the Presidency of Defense Industries )(SSB)has been successfully completed.
