At the 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), ASELSAN showcased its latest generation of integrated defense technologies within the Çelik Kubbe (Steel Dome) system. The advanced systems — EJDERHA, GÖKTAN, KORAL 200, TURAN, and GÜRZ — attracted considerable interest from international attendees and defense experts.
New Layer in Steel Dome: EJDERHA vs. Electromagnetic Threats
ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol announced the introduction of a new layer to the Steel Dome concept, highlighting a strategic shift in adapting to evolving conflict dynamics. Akyol stated, “While serial production continues for systems like HİSAR, SİPER, and KORKUT, we are proud to present our EJDERHA system — developed to counter electromagnetic threats — to the global defense community.”
EJDERHA can neutralize UAVs within a one-kilometer range by disrupting their electronic circuits with high-powered electromagnetic waves, providing essential protection for air defense infrastructure.
KORAL 200: A New Era in Electronic Warfare
The recently unveiled KORAL 200 is a significant advancement in Turkey’s electronic warfare capabilities. Nearly twice as powerful as its predecessor, the system creates an electronic “corridor” that shields unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and combat aircraft from enemy air defenses. Akyol emphasized that the KORAL 200 is the pinnacle of Turkish electronic warfare technology.
TURAN: Centralized Network-Centric Warfare
TURAN introduces AI-powered, network-centric warfare by integrating all components of the Steel Dome into a unified communication and control system. This ensures real-time coordination and enhances the interoperability of air defense units.
GÜRZ: Unmanned Ground-Based Air Defense
Gürz is a short-range missile platform mounted on unmanned ground vehicles that represents ASELSAN’s move toward autonomous battlefield solutions. The AI-assisted system can be remotely operated from a secure command center and combines mobility and survivability with lethal precision.
GÖKTAN is a GNSS-resistant precision strike system.
GÖKTAN is a land-to-land guided munitions system that can deliver precise strikes in all directions thanks to its GNSS jamming resistance and reverse-firing capability. With the ability to carry six munitions, the system enhances flexibility and operational superiority on the battlefield.
The TURAN Tactical Communication System provides seamless connectivity.
In addition to combat systems, ASELSAN introduced the TURAN Tactical Communication System. Designed to provide secure, high-speed, long-range communications for field units, the IP-based system supports mobile operations and ensures uninterrupted communication in complex tactical environments.
