The F-16 Electronic Support Pod (EDPOD), developed by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM using entirely domestic resources, has officially been inducted into the inventory of the Turkish Air Force Command.

On June 22, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced that the EDPOD had successfully completed its flight tests against real radar systems.

Minister Kacır highlighted that the EDPOD marks a significant milestone in Türkiye’s strategy to reduce dependency on foreign defense technologies.

The EDPOD is a next-generation electronic warfare system designed for integration with F-16 fighter jets. It can detect and track enemy emissions, intercept signals from missile guidance systems and radar-based target illumination sources, identify potential threats, and store signal intelligence. Additionally, the system is capable of conducting precise geolocation of hostile emitters.
