The ZAHA Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicle, a vital asset of the Turkish Armed Forces, is taking center stage with its new, high-firepower configurations. These upgrades integrate advanced anti-tank weapon systems, significantly enhancing its effectiveness on the battlefield.
Amphibious armored combat vehicles like the ZAHA are essential links between land and naval forces, enabling rapid and secure troop deployment during amphibious operations. Their superior maneuverability and mobility serve as strategic force multipliers, especially in island-based and difficult-to-access coastal regions.
In 2023, FNSS delivered the first ZAHA vehicles to the Turkish Naval Forces Command. These vehicles were equipped with a 12.7mm machine gun and a 40mm automatic grenade launcher integrated into the ÇAKA remote-controlled turret (UKK). Since then, the ÇAKA system has evolved into a modular turret family.
At IDEF 2025, FNSS will unveil the ÇAKA 30/AT-O, the latest addition to this family of turrets. Designed to withstand maritime conditions, the ÇAKA 30/AT-O features the CANiK VENOM LR 30 mm automatic cannon, which was developed in Turkey. This cannon offers high firepower, superior precision, and low recoil. The ÇAKA 30/AT-O also integrates two ROKETSAN OMTAS anti-tank missiles ready for launch.
Thanks to these upgrades, ZAHA can now neutralize main battle tanks, fortified infantry positions, light armored vehicles, and low-altitude air threats. This makes ZAHA a versatile battlefield platform.
FNSS will also showcase the ÇAKA AT-K configuration, which is armed with a domestically produced CANiK M2 QCB 12.7mm machine gun and two ROKETSAN KARAOK short-range anti-tank missiles.
Both ÇAKA turrets are designed for lightweight integration and can be installed on wheeled and tracked land vehicles, as well as manned and unmanned naval platforms, such as assault boats and coast guard vessels.
Named after Çaka Bey, a pioneer in Turkish naval history, the ÇAKA turret systems stand out with features such as:
– Lightweight construction
• Gunner protection
– Advanced target acquisition
– High firing accuracy
Space-saving design
Thanks to its corrosion resistance and watertight engineering, it can operate effectively in extreme sea and weather conditions. Furthermore, the entire system, including firepower, optics, motion control, and software, is 100% domestically developed.
